Today I played a 1750 battle against a chaos space marine player. I wanted to try out my list with the special missions for a tournament I will be attending next month. In this mission each player begins with a flag marker and a 3”-diameter station marker. The station marker is placed 6” from the middle point of the long table side on which your army will deploy. The flag marker is placed on top of it. Each player must try to place his flag on his opponents station and capture his opponent's flag. In addition you can also score battlepoints with kill points as a secondary mission objective and victory points as a third mission objective. Deployment is dawn of war.
My opponent's army consisted of a lash daemon prince, a dreadnought, a defiler, a small unit of jump infantry, a unit of terminators in a landraider, a large unit of khorne berserkers in a rhino, a large unit of noise marines in a rhino and a small unit of noise marines on foot. I won the roll to go first and let my opponent choose side and start the first turn. He deployed his deamon prince and his khorne berserkers in base contact with his flag and ready to disembark into their rhino. I deployed nothing.
In his first turn, he embarked his khorne berserkers into their ride and moved them forward. He moved his other units on from his board edge. With nothing to shoot at, most of his units ran. The berserker rhino and the landraider popped smoke.
In my first turn Logan and the longfangs arrived first and dropped in front of the dreadnought and the berserkers' rhino. The small unit of terminators with the rune priest arrived behind the walkers and the rune priest left the squad when he disembarked. My large unit of terminators dropped down in front of his landraider on the other side of the board. I then shot a lot of missiles, multi-meltas and combi-meltas and destroyed the dreadnought, the defiler, the landraider and the rhino from the berserkers. I did take a few casualties from all the explosions.
In the next few turns, I destroyed his khorne berserkers, the daemon prince and the large unit of noise marines and their rhino. His jump pack infantry arrived using deepstrike but scattered on top of one of my units and were lost to the warp. The two remaining members of my small terminator squad took control of my opponent's flag and ran into cover. I totally ignored my own flag and with his mobility lost and most of his army destroyed, he no longer had any chance to win the game so we called it at the start of my fourth turn.
